Tom Anderson Custom Shop Electric Guitar

(sold out)

 £1,299.00

Here we have a unique and remarkable Tom Anderson custom shop guitar from 88/89. The body is original Tom Anderson stamped elder from 88 and the neck is original Tom Anderson stamped from 89. The guitar has a light elder body with original Floyd Rose tremolo and SSH pickup configuration. The guitar has an additional cavity if you want to insert active booster or Sustainiac system etc.

The neck is bird-eye maple - extremely smooth without any dinks or dents. The years have added beauty to the colour of the neck and I believe also to its strength. The nut width is just a bit more than 34mm - 1 11/16". The action on the guitar is one to die for, however although possible I didn't put it too low so I can play slide and also to get the full resonance without any buzzing or choked notes. Despite its age the frets are in perfect working order with a tremendous amount of life ahead. The fingerboard radius is something between 14-16", very flat, easy to bend notes and by all means it is a fast neck. It has lovely clay dot inlays, is extremely comfortable not fat or too thin modern C shape neck and what looks like medium jumbo frets.

Over the years I hardly practised on this guitar and used it over decades for two gigs in a month, so although the guitar is nearly 25 years old it's only been played a bit in the beginning and then over the years as described. Practically it was my reliable work horse to date. The tremolo works to perfection and is very smooth. It has the tremsetter which I kept but never used as the tuning works absolutely fine. The pickup configuration is selected via a 5-way standard Fender switch. The master volume acts also as a push/push splitter of the Tom Anderson H3 humbucker and the middle tone control which controls the neck and middle pickup is also a push/push which engages the bridge pickup together with the neck or the bridge pickup with the neck and middle in a split mode or full humbucker. All in all the guitar produces more than 12 usable fantastic sounds. The neck pickup is Tom Anderson SA1 and the middle pickup is SA1R.

Please feel free to email any questions and you're welcome to come and try the guitar with prior arrangement. I've put it at a very low price for the quality, sound, playability and the condition, so it is a great opportunity to grab a bargain. This item is for collection only (not really interested in part-ex - have too many guitars anyway). Comes with Kinsman deluxe case.

THIS ITEM IS COLLECTION ONLY.
